About the Role
This position is a dual role - you are responsible for driving both the planning, implementation, and execution of events, as well as the development and execution of marketing initiatives at the firm.
Candidates must have proven experience in both events and marketing to be considered.
Responsibilities
Event Management
Support the planning and execution of various in-person events throughout the year: multi-day shareholder conference (200+ attendees), multi-day retreat event (50+ attendees), investor dinners across multiple cities (20-40 attendees at each), quarterly board meetings, semi-annual team offsites, and corporate retreats
Ability to balance hotel bookings, registrations, vendors, AV, speakers, entertainers, design elements, etc.
Coordinate all logistics for company-wide meetings and events, including venue selection, catering, marketing and materials preparation.
Confident negotiation skills.
Oversee and track event budgets, expenses, receipts, invoices, and manage all vendor contracts.
Familiarity with designing and managing websites (e.g., SquareSpace), registration (e.g., TypeForm, WebConnex), payment platforms (e.g., Stripe), event app (e.g., Whova), texting (e.g., EZTexting), and more.
Digital Marketing
Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote the firm, and its portfolio companies' brands and services.
Digital marketing experience includes: social media, design/graphics, blog, newsletter, website content.
Coordinate the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including presentations, documents, and newsletters.
Collaborate on the development and support of full-funnel paid strategies (SEO), including cold audience acquisition and retargeting, by partnering with internal business development teams.
Design creative materials for paid channels (Meta, YouTube, Google, LinkedIn).
Analyze marketing metrics and trends, and provide performance reports. Experience with CRMs (SalesForce/HubSpot), email marketing systems (MailChimp).
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Events, Hospitality, Communications, or Business Administration.
3+ years of experience in digital marketing and large-scale event planning and management.
Reside in Charlotte, NC (HQ).
Radically obsessed with being organized and thrives at crossing off a ‘to do’ list.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong time management capabilities and a creative problem-solver; quick on your feet!
High IQ, social and soft skills, and immaculate professionalism and customer-service orientation.
Able to be flexible, adaptable, and quickly change priorities based on business needs in a fast-paced environment.
Strategic thinker, decision maker, and doer.
Technology savvy and high level of proficiency in Google Suite.
