Description
Millennium Insurance is seeking a Casualty Adjuster who will independently manage and resolve Commercial General Liability, Professional Liability, and Automobile Liability claims, ensuring fair, timely, and accurate outcomes in accordance with policy wording, legislation, and industry best practices.

What you will be doing
Investigate and evaluate casualty claims, including Commercial General Liability, Professional Liability, and Automobile Liability claims
Analyze policy coverage, contractual agreements, and endorsements to determine coverage positions and exposure
Assess liability, quantum, and risk to recommend and establish appropriate claim reserves within assigned authority
Negotiate settlements effectively and cost‑efficiently while maintaining fair and defensible claim decisions
Interpret and apply relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and case law applicable to casualty claims
Manage litigated claims, including instructing and collaborating with defence counsel and monitoring legal expenses
Communicate proactively and professionally with insureds, brokers, legal representatives, and other stakeholders
Maintain accurate, organized, and timely claim file documentation in accordance with company standards
Provide consistent, high‑quality customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and providing regular claim updates
Stay current on industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices within casualty claims management
What you bring to the team
Minimum of three (3) years of experience handling casualty or liability claims
Post‑secondary education and/or CIP designation are considered an asset
Strong knowledge of liability principles, claims reserving, and policy interpretation
Ability to analyze and interpret legislation, contractual language, and case law
Experience managing litigated files and working with defence counsel is an asset
Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills
Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills with a high level of attention to detail
Professional judgment, accountability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
