We are currently accepting applications for the seasonal temporary (flexible weekly hours (likely around 15 hours)) position of:
Marketing Intern Economic Development Office Land Use, Housing and Development Department
Hourly Rate: $22.00-$25.00 No benefits **Position Funded to June 30, 2026**
The REQUIRED Town of Lexington application form must be received in the Town's Human Resource Department.
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Town of Lexington is seeking applications for an Economic Development Intern with a passion for marketing, graphic design, social media, collaboration, and creativity. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with Economic Development and Visitors Center Staff. We are looking for someone who is proactive and a self-starter who works well with project deadlines. This internship will be a fast-paced program lasting roughly 7-8 weeks, and will conclude on June 30th
2026.
RESPONSIBILITES
Will work with Economic Development and Visitors Center staff to: - Create graphics from templates. - Monitor and create content for social media platforms. - Design materials such as brochures. - Maintain and archive files and perform regular clerical duties. - Contribute to the creation of digital content including mock-ups - Create graphics for merchandise. - Present work to staff/committees (pending specific projects requirements). - Research information for reports/data.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to work in the United States without the need for current or future Town sponsorship. - High-school or equivalent diploma/certificate. - Familiarity/expertise with Adobe Illustrator and other graphic design software preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to: - Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and maintain effective work relationships. - Operate efficiently in a high-paced environment and complete multiple tasks in a given period of time. - Be organized, detailed-oriented with ability to execute work under tight deadlines. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. - Interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, procedures and regulations. - Work collaboratively and effectively with various departments. - Demonstrate & practice effective interpersonal communication, teamwork, presentation, problem solving and analytical skills. - Maintain efficient and effective automated systems. - Independently work on projects and self-lead with guidance from management.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in a normal office environment, not subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc. May be required to crouch, crawl, stand for long periods of time and lift computer equipment.
Office equipment (personal computer, computer peripherals, telephone, calculator, copier, mobile devices, facsimile, etc.), servers, network equipment, testing equipment, small hand tools and passenger vehicle. Must be sighted and able to perceive and discriminate colors and visual cues. Must be able to perceive and discriminate sounds and speak at a normal rate of conversation.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color discrimination and the ability to adjust focus. Work involves extended periods of sitting while using a keyboard and mouse, which requires eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
