OC Animal Care Marketing Intern (Unpaid Internship)

OVERVIEW OC Animal Care Internship seeks outgoing, dependable individuals with positive attitudes who can work independently in a fast‑paced environment. The experience will be valuable for those interested in medical, animal care, program management, or county government fields and make a direct impact on companion animals in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and publish original content across various social media platforms.

Design flyers and digital media for campaigns, promotions, fundraisers, events, and general activities.

Takes pictures and videos of shelter animals throughout their stay.

Enhance online profiles of shelter animals by updating picture, capturing enrichment videos, and writing creative biographies.

Capture photos and videos, and edit using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, etc., for marketing campaigns.

Please note this is an in‑person internship. Interns will not be able to perform the above duties remotely.

This position may involve some exposure/contact with animals while photos and videos are taken.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be current college students enrolled in an accredited college or university or be recent graduates in marketing, media relations, advertising, public relations, communications, animal science, web analytics, content analysis, strategic communications, or a similar field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Graphic design skills with Adobe Creative Cloud.

TIME COMMITMENT OC Animal Care is open regarding time commitment. Preferably, a minimum of 20 hours per week for approximately 3-6 months is preferred; however, the program is open to working with less availability.
