Next Gen Pastor Oakhill Baptist Church – Evansville, Indiana Full-Time

Who We Are Oakhill Baptist Church is a growing, multi-generational church in Evansville, Indiana with an average weekly attendance of approximately 600. We believe a healthy next gen ministry is essential to the long-term health of the church. We are prayerfully seeking a Next Gen Pastor to lead middle school, high school, and college-age students into a growing, life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Evansville metropolitan area is home to more than 250,000 residents and offers a strong, stable employment base supported by major employers such as Mead Johnson, Toyota, Berry Global, and Kaiser Aluminum, among others. The region is also home to three colleges and universities—serving thousands of students—adding energy, talent, and workforce diversity to the community. Evansville is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, quality schools, and overall safety. It offers the amenities of a mid-sized city while still maintaining the welcoming, close-knit feel of a small town, making it an attractive place to live, work, and raise a family.

The Role The Next Gen Pastor will provide vision, discipleship, and pastoral care for students and young adults while partnering closely with parents, volunteers, and church leadership. This role is ideal for a relational, biblically grounded leader who enjoys developing leaders, building community, and helping students take meaningful next steps in their faith. The Next Gen Pastor serves as an elder (if ordained) on a collaborative staff team and works closely with the Lead Pastor and other Elders. This position reports directly to the Lead Pastor.

What You’ll Do

Build meaningful, shepherding relationships with students and young adults

Teach biblically sound, engaging, age-appropriate Bible studies and messages

Develop and lead a clear discipleship pathway for student and young adult ministry

Recruit, train, mentor, equip, and direct volunteer leaders

Partner and regularly engage with parents as primary spiritual influencers

Lead student ministry programs, events, retreats, camps, and mission trips

Provide pastoral care for students and families

Participate in staff leadership, collaboration, and church-wide initiatives

What We’re Looking For

A clear calling to student or next-generation ministry

A life marked by spiritual maturity, Christ-like character, and doctrinal faithfulness

Meets biblical qualifications for church leadership (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1)

Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)

Bachelor’s degree required; theological training completed or in progress

At least 2 years of student or ministry leadership experience

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

A self-starter that has a strong desire to lead out in ministry.

Full‑time salaried position (commensurate with experience)
