Experience Design Intern
Job Description
Orion Innovation is seeking a high‑potential intern to support Experience Design and AI‑driven innovation initiatives. This role is designed for a student who is intellectually curious, fluent in both design and technology, and motivated to explore how AI tools and techniques can improve workflows, decision‑making, and digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Support Experience Design teams in research, ideation, and prototyping activities
Explore and evaluate AI tools to improve design, development, and operational workflows
Assist in documenting and optimizing internal processes using AI‑driven approaches
Contribute to rapid prototyping of concepts using tools such as Figma, low‑code platforms, or GenAI tools
Analyze user journeys and identify opportunities for automation, personalization, or efficiency gains
Synthesize findings into clear insights, presentations, and recommendations for internal stakeholders
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including product, engineering, and data
What You Will Learn
How AI is applied across the product development lifecycle (design, engineering, delivery)
Practical use of GenAI tools for design acceleration, research, and prototyping
Exposure to enterprise‑scale digital transformation programs
Best practices in Experience Design, DesignOps, and AI‑enabled workflows
How to translate emerging technologies into measurable business value
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Demonstrated curiosity about AI, design, and emerging technologies
Foundational understanding of UX/UI design principles and/or software development concepts
Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or prototyping tools
Exposure to AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Miro, etc.) is a plus
Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
Clear communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas and insights
Preferred Attributes
Self‑starter with a bias toward experimentation and learning
Comfortable working in ambiguity and exploring new ideas
Interest in improving processes, not just building outputs
Ability to connect design decisions with business and user outcomes
What Success Looks Like
Demonstrates initiative in exploring and applying AI tools to real problems
Contributes meaningful insights that improve team workflows or outputs
Produces tangible prototypes, concepts, or process improvements
Effectively communicates findings to both design and non‑design stakeholders
