Title: Senior Database Administrator (remote CA) Location: Aliso Viejo, CA Pay: $48-50/hr

Job Description: • Administer and modernize cloud-Financial platforms (Azure and Snowflake) with secondary support for on premises SQL Server, focusing on centralized, automated deployments, secure operations (including HIPAA/PHI), performance/availability, and continuous improvement through automation to increase efficiency and reliability. • Job functions Administers and supports cloud-Financial platforms (Azure and Snowflake), including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Snowflake; • provides support for on premises SQL Server. Centralizes, standardizes, and executes deployments for SQL Server related components, including SQL code (DDL/DML, stored procedures), SQL Agent jobs, SSIS packages, SSAS models, SSRS reports, and supporting BI/analytics tools (Tableau, Alteryx). • Designs, implements, and maintains automated CI/CD pipelines and release processes for databases, pipelines, and analytics artifacts across environments, emphasizing repeatability, auditability, and change control. • Builds and operates deployment automation and administrative tooling using scripting and programming (e.g., PowerShell, Python), enabling self-service and reducing manual effort. • Monitors, tunes, and optimizes database and warehouse performance across platforms (SQL Server, Azure data services, Snowflake), ensuring capacity planning, cost/performance efficiency, and stable SLAs. • Implements and validates backup/restore, high availability and disaster recovery, replication, and data protection controls for on prem and cloud environments; performs regular testing and documentation of recovery procedures. • Operates and governs data ingestion/integration pipelines, including ADF orchestration and Coalesce-based data modeling for the Snowflake EDW, ensuring reliability, lineage, and deployable, version-controlled models. • Manages security, access controls, secrets, and auditing across data platforms and tooling; ensures proper handling of highly sensitive PHI in compliance with HIP nd partners with security/compliance stakeholders to meet policy and regulatory requirements. • Leads incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem management for production and critical environments; participates in on-call support as required and maintains runbooks, deployment guides, and operational documentation. • Drives continuous improvement using an automation-first, AI-enabled approach by applying standardization, templates, and intelligent tooling to improve developer/analyst experience, increase deployment velocity, and reduce operational risk. Mandatory Skills: • Cloud Data Platform Administration (Azure & Snowflake) - Expert • Database Release Engineering & CI/CD (DevOps for Data Platforms) - Advanced • Database Reliability, Performance & DR (SQL Server & Cloud) - Advanced

Cloud Data Platforms (Primary): • 8 to 10+ years administering and supporting enterprise data platforms, with primary focus on cloud services (Azure data services and Snowflake) and support for ona€'premises SQL Server.

Centralized Deployments & DevOps: • 5+ years building and operating standardized release processes and CI/CD pipelines for database, ETL/ELT, and analytics artifacts, with strong source control and change management discipline.

Reliability & Performance: • Proven experience operating mission critical data systems, including performance tuning, monitoring/alerting, capacity planning, incident response, and resilient backup/restore and DR practices.

Governance & Security: • Experience implementing access controls, auditing, and secure configuration across data platforms, partnering with security/compliance stakeholders, and supporting HIPAA-regulated environments.
