
Director of Enterprise Integrations

Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Director of Technology to support our Fortune 150 client in Newport News. This position has the exciting opportunity to lead the transformation of enterprise integration across a highly diversified business, driving modernization from legacy ERP systems to scalable, API-driven architectures. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Requirements:
Strong experience leading enterprise integration and middleware strategy Proven background with API platforms, integration layers, and system interoperability Experience modernizing legacy systems into API-first or event-driven architectures Leadership experience managing large, distributed teams (including global teams) Ability to operate at both strategic and technical awareness levels (not hands-on coding, but deeply engaged) Experience working across applications, data, and infrastructure teams Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills Experience in cloud or hybrid environments (Azure) US Citizenship required Desired:
Hands-on background earlier in career in architecture or development Experience with tools such as API gateways, event streaming, messaging platforms Experience in Agile, DevOps, and product-oriented delivery models Responsibilities:
Define and execute the enterprise integration and middleware strategy Lead modernization of legacy integration patterns into API-driven architecture Oversee design and delivery of integration solutions across enterprise systems Establish integration standards, governance, and lifecycle management Partner with business and technology leaders to align integrations with business outcomes Drive operational excellence, including system reliability, performance, and scalability Build and lead high-performing integration and middleware teams Ensure systems meet compliance requirements including security and SOX controls
The base pay range for this position is $190,000 - $210,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
