Job Overview
Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach – Part‑time, 29 hours or less per week, reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation in the Athletics Department. Effective Date: 3/12/26. The role involves supervising the day‑to‑day operations of the golf program, including coaching, recruiting, practice planning and preparation, competition scheduling, fundraising, budgetary management, strength & conditioning, academic monitoring, and related duties.
Responsibilities
Recruiting: Oversee and implement all aspects of the recruiting process; identify and evaluate prospective student athletes; engage in communication with prospects, parents, coaches, and other advisors; attract potential students to Manhattanville University; coordinate with the Compliance Officer to ensure all NCAA policies are followed.
Coaching: Oversee and direct coaching during practice and matches; enhance the development of student‑athlete golf skills through team practice and one‑on‑one instruction; ensure proper safety procedures; work with athletics trainers and physicians to implement wellness and conditioning programs; maintain knowledge of NCAA, Skyline Conference, Northeast Women’s Golf Conference, and Manhattanville Compliance policies; monitor academic progress; coordinate fundraising activities; schedule contests and procure facilities for practice and matches; perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Travel required for competitions and recruiting.
Perform golf‑related physical tasks.
Knowledge of effective coaching techniques and best practices.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with school administrators, parents, students, and alumni.
Ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment.
Effective communication with student‑athletes, coaches, athletic and university administration.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree (required).
Experience
Current knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and policies.
Intercollegiate coaching and playing experience.
Recruiting at a collegiate level.
CPR/AED Certified.
Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
Move sport‑related equipment such as ball carts and cones.
Perform coaching tasks such as demonstrating a drill or technique.
Game‑day supervision duties may require lifting items over 50 lbs.
Salary & Hours Annual salary: $13,000. Part‑time, 29 hours or less per week.
