AmeriCorps, Kansas City, KS, United States
The Community Engagement and Outreach VISTA will support The Toolbox (Mission Adelante) in strengthening its ability to connect residents in Wyandotte County with programs, resources, and opportunities that support long-term stability. The VISTA will help expand outreach efforts, build community partnerships, and develop sustainable systems that increase visibility and access to services for low-income and underserved residents. This includes developing communication materials, building relationships with community organizations and partners, and establishing tools that support consistent engagement. The member will also help strengthen digital communication by maintaining website content, creating templates for social media and outreach materials, and developing a content calendar to support ongoing visibility. In addition, the VISTA will support systems for fundraising, volunteer engagement, and special events. This includes helping develop a fundraising campaign for The Toolbox’s five-year anniversary, creating event planning tools, and building a volunteer recruitment and tracking system. The member will also assist in planning and documenting outreach strategies for community events such as 913 Day. Professional development is integrated throughout the year, with opportunities for training, networking, and participation in team meetings and AmeriCorps activities. By building sustainable outreach, communication, and resource development systems, the VISTA will help The Toolbox strengthen its long-term capacity to serve residents and expand access to programs that support economic stability.
