WGTE Public Media is seeking a full-time Broadcast Engineer. Responsibilities Maintain and support the technical infrastructure for the organization’s television and radio broadcast operations. Ensure reliable performance and compliance with FCC and industry standards. Maintain broadcast, studio, and production equipment. Troubleshoot signal impairments and system issues. Assist with system upgrades and integration. Collaborate with engineering, IT, and other departments to support daily operations and long-term technical projects. Qualifications Strong problem-solver who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment. Clear communication of complex technical information. Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in electronics, broadcast engineering, information technology, or a related field. At least three years of experience in broadcast engineering or technical operations. Working knowledge of RF transmission, audio and video systems, electronics, and IP networks. Experience with broadcast automation systems, video servers, encoders, or STL/TSL systems. Familiarity with CAD software or technical schematics. Ability to perform occasional field work at transmitter sites or remote productions. Capability to lift equipment and work in elevated or confined spaces.
