Summary This Senior Executive Service (SES) position is in the Office of the Administrator, Office of Policy and Regulatory Management, Federal and Science Advisory Committee Division. About the Office of the Administrator. This is an office-centered position—you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

Major Duties The Federal and Science Advisory Committee Division Director is responsible for providing effective committee guidance to the EPA Administrator and other senior Agency decision-makers on the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) of 1972. The incumbent will support strategic policy and oversight for the federal advisory committees (FACs) across the Agency and training for Designated Federal Officers (DFOs) across the agency to ensure compliance with the FACA legislation associated with charters, membership, meeting protocols, and other functions.

Developing long and short range plans and projects, budgets, and manpower needs for the Division itself and the committees it oversees.

Managing the process by which the Science Advisory Board provides independent advice to the agency on scientific studies, research planning, and proposed criteria documents, standards, limitations and/or regulations.

Overseeing the work of the advisory committees and conducting briefings for Agency senior officials based on the advice and knowledge of the advisory committees.

Representing the Agency on interagency committees, working groups, conferences, seminars, and meetings.

Overseeing the development, assessment, and improvement of management control systems in order to safeguard programs and achieve results while adhering to the Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act.

Ensuring that procurements, contracts, grants, and assistance are managed in accordance with Agency and office policies, regulatory requirements, and budgetary constraints.

Performing the full range of supervisory human resources functions for the Division and subordinate employees.
