Mac's Hardware- Sales Associate (Chain/Rope & Cable Department Head)

Job Summary
The Chain/Rope & Cable Department Head at Mac’s Hardware is a full-time sales associate position responsible for managing the daily functions of the Chain, Rope, and Cable department. This role requires delivering exceptional customer service by assisting customers with selecting appropriate products for their project needs, as well as measuring and cutting chain, rope, and cable to customer specifications. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Department Head is responsible for maintaining inventory levels by putting away freight, organizing merchandise, and ensuring the department remains clean, safe, and fully stocked. The role also includes executing price changes, completing merchandising resets, and ensuring all products are properly labeled and displayed according to company standards. Due to the high-demand nature of this department, the position requires frequent heavy lifting and the safe handling of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, product knowledge, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment while supporting overall store operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection and project needs
Measure and cut chain, rope, and cable to customer specifications
Stock merchandise and put away freight deliveries in a timely manner
Maintain department cleanliness, safety, and organization
Complete price changes and signage updates as required
Execute merchandising resets according to store standards
Monitor inventory levels and report low stock to management
Safely lift, move, and handle heavy materials and equipment
Follow all safety procedures and store policies
Support overall store operations and assist in other departments as needed
Maintain product knowledge to effectively assist customers
