Cosmetic Sales Colleague / Beauty Advisor

Job Overview As a Cosmetic Sales Colleague, also known as a Beauty Advisor, you are the trusted expert our customers turn to for all things beauty. Passionate about both products and people, you play a key role in creating a personalized and inspiring shopping experience that builds confidence and drives sales.

Responsibilities

Educate customers and provide expert advice, conduct product demonstrations, and offer tailored consultations including makeup application and skincare recommendations.

Stay current on trends and introduce customers to new items and innovations that match their unique needs and style.

Proactively grow and manage a loyal client base through consistent follow‑up, virtual outreach, and personalized service.

Offer a warm welcome, create friendly personal conversations, and build lasting relationships to bring customers back.

Maintain a shoppable space—clean, organized, and prepared—refresh signage and pricing, and assist with merchandise moves.

Share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close each interaction with a sincere thank‑you.

Collaborate with teammates, support each other, and strive to improve performance daily.

Qualifications and Skills

Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Strong communication skills—able to understand and convey information clearly to customers and colleagues.

Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules in English.

Deliver personalized beauty experiences by building relationships, demonstrating product application, and educating on benefits.

Drive sales and client loyalty by maintaining an organized space, leveraging clienteling tools, and participating in sales events.

Meet and surpass daily sales goals with exceptional service.

Acquisition of new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits.

Effectively use point‑of‑sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions.

At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience required.

Schedule Full‑time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part‑time colleagues are scheduled 12‑24 hours per week. All schedules include weekend shifts. Hours may vary according to business needs and colleague availability.

Essential Physical Requirements

Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.

Standing for at least two consecutive hours and lifting at least 25 lb.

Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders; reaching, including above eye level.

Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Frequent use of computers, handheld equipment, and cash register to process transactions.
