Job Description
We are looking for a Counter Sales Representative to join our PLATT team in Jackson, WY. This role serves as a resource for immediate service and product knowledge, assisting customers promptly and ensuring efficient processing of orders. Responsibilities include working closely with the branch team on receiving, shipping, and stocking.
Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with purchases, processing orders, and returns.
Assist in driving electrical distribution sales for our counter business and growing new and existing customer relationships.
Maintain daily restocking, showroom maintenance, and keep showroom and counter clean and organized.
Support warehouse functions as needed, including receiving, shipping, stocking, and deliveries.
Stay informed and educated on product knowledge.
Assist inside sales as needed.
Inform manager of potential hazards or safety/satisfaction issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience preferred.
Previous branch experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Electrical product knowledge and experience, including lighting, switchgear, controls, and electrical commodities preferred.
Experience in electrical distribution or similar sales environments preferred.
Familiarity with automated order entry systems and Windows-based PC software preferred.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good team player.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
Typing skills.
Positive attitude.
Desire to improve electrical product knowledge.
Physical Demands
Sit: Must be able to remain in a stationary position – 21% to 50% of the time.
Walk: Must be able to move inside/outside work location – at least 51% of the time.
Use hands: Operates computer and office machinery – at least 51% of the time.
Stoop, kneel, crouch: Must be able to crouch for stocking shelves, picking up boxes, etc. – at least 51% of the time.
Climb or balance: May ascend/descend a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other equipment – occasionally up to 20%.
Talk, hear, taste, smell: Use senses to communicate with coworkers and clients and detect hazardous conditions – at least 51% of the time.
Weight and Force Demands
Up to 10 pounds – at least 51% of the time.
Up to 25 pounds – 21% to 50% of the time.
Up to 50 pounds – occasionally up to 20% of the time.
Working Environment
