Job Details Assistant Resident Manager I at Villa Monterey, an affordable family housing community in San Jose, CA.

Salary range: $24.00 – $36.00 per hour; hiring range for new employees is generally $24.00 – $30.00 per hour, DOE. Offer will consider candidate experience and current salary levels of comparable EAH roles.

Qualified candidates must have 1+ year of tax‑credit experience and Yardi Voyager experience. Candidates must be able to work independently, be reliable, and bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Position Overview The Assistant Resident Manager assists the Resident Manager in operating the site to ensure effective fiscal, physical, and social soundness. The role requires initiative to solve problems unique to the complex and to supervise employees with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

Assist with collecting rent, bank deposits, and preparing/submitting rent roll and income verification

Monitor work orders and walk the grounds daily

Answer telephone calls, file documents, and prepare correspondence

Assist residents with questions or problems

Assist with evictions, annual inspections, and repairs

Assist with re‑certifications; resident notification, setting up appointments, and tracking

Qualifications

1+ year of affordable housing property management experience

Knowledge of HUD, TCAC, DFEH and ADA guidelines

Skilled in problem solving and resident relations

Strong computer and phone skills

Background Check Requirements EAH Housing conducts criminal background checks on all candidates who have received a conditional job offer. Drug Testing All candidates who receive a conditional offer must submit to drug testing within 72 hours of acceptance. Testing does not include marijuana/cannabis. Completion is a requirement for employment.
