The Racquet Sports Attendant is responsible for assisting members and guests at the Racquet Sports reception desk; maintaining the Club's racquet sports facilities; and ensuring a clean and safe environment for members and guests.

Job Duties

Provides excellent service by engaging with members and guests; and ensuring their needs are met.

Assists members and guests at the Racquet Sports desk and over the phone with inquiries and court/event reservations; Maintains member and guest register.

Assists the Director of Racquet Sports with coordinating Racquet Sports events and marketing upcoming events.

Monitors play at the Racquet Sports facility; Notifies Director of Racquet Sports of any infraction of Club rules.

Under the direction of the Director of Racquet Sports, assists in weekly/monthly/annual schedule of events and clinics to maximize court time usage.

Processes retail sales and assists Director of Racquet Sports with maintaining inventory.

Assists with daily billing to member accounts; keeps accurate log of cash sales and reconciles with the accounting department.

Monitors junior tennis clinic attendance log.

Stocks adequate supplies on-hand: towels, toiletries, bottled beverages, etc.

Performs opening/closing routine per operating schedule and assures Hale Ohana Ola facility is secured. Operates and reports malfunctions of the alarm system.

Performs routine court maintenance such as removing leaves from Racquet Sports courts; daily brushing of Racquet Sports area, putting court furniture in proper area per opening/closing procedures; and maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment.

Informs the Director of Raquet Sports when repairs are needed and submits work orders to the maintenance department.

Maintains current knowledge of Club Racquet Sports activities (i.e., events, Jr. programs, etc.); and working knowledge of Racquet Sports (scoring, rules, code of conduct, etc.).

In conjunction with the Director of Racquet Sports, creates Racquet Sports related content for The Club’s monthly member newsletter.

Facilitates Racquet Sports play and fills in when requested by members (only while on duty).

Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; and/or 6 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.

Must have the ability to perform general administrative duties including filing, phone etiquette, creating flyers, and data entry.

Must have the ability to use Windows software, Microsoft Office products, Canva, and Point-of-Sale system.

Knowledge of the USTA Friend at Court (Handbook of Tennis Rules and Regulations); or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Must be available to work Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, including nights and holidays.

Must have CPR/First Aid Certification.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Must have experience playing tennis/pickleball with a player rating of 3.5 or greater to provide Racquet Sports Instruction.

Preferred: Certification as a Racquet Sports Professional from RSPA, PTR, USTA, PPR, etc.

Starting Pay Rate:

$22.00 per hour
