Responsibilities

As a Counter Sales Associate you are the first thing our customers see as they walk into our branches. You are the face of Airgas!

Sell medical, industrial and specialty gases, welding equipment and hard goods & tools to customers.

Respond to inquiries or concerns from walk‑in customers or those who call in and provide additional warehouse support as needed.

Solicit sales from walk‑in and telephone call‑in customers, assisting them with identification of product needs and locating merchandise.

Accurately complete and file all required paperwork on a timely basis; document sales, quotes or other information.

Enter sales & quote data into the computer and research information for customers using the system.

Receive payment for merchandise or services sold and enter sale into the computer; responsible for payments received and adhering to all administrative and accounting related procedures.

Restock store merchandise as needed; arrange stock on shelves or racks in the sales area and keep merchandise in order; mark or ticket merchandise.

Provide warehouse support for shipping & receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, labeling, or other tasks.

Deliver and replenish to customers of various industrial products and vending machine or storeroom items; drive sprinter van.

Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical vending systems as needed.

Review manual stock levels of various inventories at multiple plant departments for reorder.

Follow all safety procedures, using established safety procedures for cylinder handling during exchanges and storage of cylinders.

Maintain showroom cleanliness by procedures set forth by management.

Maintain current price documentation and product literature as it becomes available; keep product knowledge current.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications

HS Diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 2 years of previous product, warehouse and/or sales related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications.

Requires frequent use of computer and telephones and occasional use of a forklift, pallet jack or other material handling equipment.

Employee will frequently be required to position self to stock inventory and handle cylinders.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and move more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

SAP preferred.

Forklift preferred.
