Senior Corporate Counsel - Real Estate

Senior Corporate Counsel (Real Estate) As a member of the legal team reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, VP - Real Estate, you will support the company’s real estate activities and operations (acquisitions/dispositions, leasing, zoning, land use, entitlements, real estate finance, tax incentives, and other real estate development activities). You will maintain compliance with relevant policies and procedures and provide direct support to the acquisition and development teams and business units.

Real Estate Matters

Support the legal aspects of the company’s real estate activities, operations, and transactions, including negotiation and drafting of purchase/sale agreements, financing documents, leases, tax incentive agreements, economic development projects, title review and insurance, zoning and land use documents, easements and restrictive covenants, and management of multiple deals and deal flow.

Work with outside counsel, counterparties, vendors, insurers, and other third parties.

Non-Real Estate Matters

Take responsibility for various non-real estate legal and general business matters as needed.

Handle commercial law matters.

Assist with a variety of business‑related functions and provide sound legal and business judgment on loans, equity raises, joint ventures, acquisitions, and construction‑related matters.

Basic Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials.

Admission to the bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia.

Three or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer in a general corporate transactional practice, preferably with real estate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with project finance and/or asset‑based lending.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
