Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Activities Director to lead and oversee all aspects of recreational activities such as sports, arts and crafts. This is a key leadership position that requires a strategic thinker, an inspiring team leader, and a compassionate advocate for residents and their families.

The activities director will focus on creating activities that enrich the residents lives with physical and cognitive exercise and socialization.

Key Responsibilities

Planning, organizing and implementing a regular schedule. Maintaining a calendar of activities and effectively communicating it to residents. Overseeing group activities. Posting a monthly calendar of events. Coordinating and communicating with staff members. Recruit, train, and lead a multidisciplinary team, cultivating a positive and supportive workplace culture that prioritizes professional growth and collaboration. Fostering a culture of accountability. Arranging travel to off-site activities. Ensuring that staff and residents follow all safety protocols. Submitting budgetary recommendations for equipment and supplies. Monitoring residents health and providing reports to caregivers. Represent the facility in the local community, building partnerships and enhancing the reputation of Big Horn Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Qualifications

Activity Director Certified and/or Activity Professional Certified preferred. Leadership. Experience coordinating activities and events. Communications and public speaking. Strong interpersonal skills and conflict management. Planning and budgeting. First aid and CPR. Ability to lead, coach and resolve conflict. Ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with residents, families, staff, and the broader community. A passion for providing compassionate, high-quality care to seniors.
