General Position Description This is a territory sales position requiring the sale and marketing of Lottery products and servicing Lottery retailer accounts within the assigned territory. Employees assigned to this class are responsible for meeting/exceeding territory sales goals, merchandising, retailer recruitment, retailer training, and public relations. Daily travel is required.

Essential Duties

Be knowledgeable of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program and ensure retailers and players are aware of its messaging.

Utilize effective sales techniques to promote and increase the sale of Lottery products.

Provide, place, and update point‑of‑sale materials, including maintenance of play stations and placement of dispensers and vending machines.

Communicate positive and current information about the Lottery and its products to retailers.

Provide training and guidance to retailers on effective methods for increasing ticket sales.

Identify, contact, and recruit potential retailers.

Assist potential retailers in completing applications, submitting them, and collecting application fees.

Analyze individual retailer sales, recommend improvements, and establish goals with retailers.

Explain Lottery policy and procedures to retailers and other stakeholders.

Educate retailers on programs supported by the Lottery.

Perform retailer suspensions or terminations as needed.

Represent the agency at events, presentations, and speaking engagements as assigned.

Plan, structure, explain, and implement statewide and retailer‑specific promotions, including the set‑up and breakdown of promotional props and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Resolve issues with Lottery retailers and players regarding sales, tickets, and supply distribution.

Resolve issues relating to retailer contracting.

Maintain ongoing communication with district management concerning emerging issues.

Answer and return phone calls in a timely fashion.

Attend meetings, trainings, and seminars as directed by management.

Takes timely action regarding instant ticket inventory management and returns.

Maintain displays and daily paperwork, including vehicle logs, timesheets, and other required documents.

Document all call activity in the provided mobile sales tool and use data to increase sales.

Document marketing and other territorial activities as required.

Operate and maintain state vehicles according to policies and laws.

Operate a motor vehicle as required, including overnight trips.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Attendance is an essential function of this position.

Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Perform ADA compliance functions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to move up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work a schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to utilize problem‑solving techniques.

Ability to travel as required, including operating a motor vehicle and overnight travel.

Other Job‑Related Requirements Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required. Maintain strict confidentiality of information learned while working with the Florida Lottery—including payroll information, budget matters, policy decisions, tax matters, employee disciplinary issues, and other personnel data.

Licensure/Registration/Certification Requirements Valid driver’s license. If revoked or suspended, notify supervisor immediately.
