Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge and help with the selection of merchandise. React to all customer concerns quickly with a sense of importance. Provide outstanding customer service by assisting patrons in selecting goods or substitute items. Manage overall operations of the sales department, including ordering merchandise, receiving, pricing, and monitoring stock levels. In conjunction with store management, handle price changes, markdowns, promotional sets and signage, and communicate with HQ staff regarding especial orders or merchandise issues. Assist store management with training employees on cash register and front‑end duties; provide input on employee evaluations. Operate a cash register, accept cash, personal checks, credit cards, etc., prepare, verify and issue change funds, collect cash receipts, and manage supporting documentation. Compare register tapes with the Daily Activity Report to investigate discrepancies. Prepare and maintain daily cash overage and shortage records and control the security of the change fund, safe and cash registers. Carry out key carrier duties, opening and closing the store as required. Direct or supervise other employees and act as the overall store manager in the absence of management. Follow all loss‑prevention, safety and emergency preparedness policies. Work weekends. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Minimum: Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales. Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds, and stand for long periods of time. Preferred (in addition to the minimum): Experience operating a cash register and knowledge of sales inventory. Previous retail supervisory experience in performing the above duties. Current USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months experience as a USCG NAF sales clerk. BENEFITS OF WORKING FOR CGX
