Job Title Director of Community Engagement – School of Public Health, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Job Description The Director of Community Engagement provides strategic leadership for building, sustaining, and expanding partnerships that advance the mission, visibility, and enrollment goals of the UNLV School of Public Health (SPH). A central responsibility of this position is to design and implement outreach and recruitment strategies that attract undergraduate and graduate students whose backgrounds, experiences, and aspirations reflect the demographic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity of the Las Vegas metropolitan community. The Director plays a critical role in strengthening educational pathways for individuals historically underrepresented in public health and healthcare professions and in ensuring that the future public health workforce is prepared to serve the diverse populations of Southern Nevada. In addition, the Director of Community Engagement will support and provide leadership to the Nevada Community Health Coalition, and collaborate with the Center for Health Disparities and the Nevada Institute for Children’s Research and Policy; conducting community based participatory research through community engagement, education, research and service‑learning opportunities for historically underserved student and community populations.

Key Responsibilities

Build, sustain, and expand partnerships that advance the mission and enrollment goals of the School of Public Health.

Design and implement outreach and recruitment strategies to attract a diverse student body.

Strengthen educational pathways for historically underrepresented individuals in public health and healthcare professions.

Lead the Nevada Community Health Coalition and collaborate with the Center for Health Disparities and the Nevada Institute for Children’s Research and Policy.

Conduct community based participatory research through community engagement, education, research and service‑learning opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and 3-5 years of professional, management and supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with community‑based participatory research utilizing assessment, evaluation and data analysis.

Experience with budget management and financial accounting.
