Providence House is seeking a dedicated and experienced

Director of Child Development Center (CDC)

to lead our early childhood program. This role is critical to ensuring children receive safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care while their families work toward independence. The Director will oversee daily operations, ensure full compliance with Louisiana childcare regulations, and lead a team committed to excellence in early childhood education.

What You’ll Do Leadership & Operations

Oversee daily operations of the Child Development Center

Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children

Develop and implement systems that support high-quality childcare

Licensing & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with Louisiana Department of Education regulations (Type III Center)

Serve as the primary contact for licensing and inspections

Maintain audit-ready documentation at all times

Recruit, supervise, and develop CDC staff

Conduct evaluations and provide coaching

Ensure proper staffing ratios and scheduling

Ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum implementation

Monitor lesson plans and classroom environments

Support teachers in classroom management and instruction

Child Safety & Family Engagement

Ensure strict adherence to child safety procedures

Support family communication and engagement

Address parent concerns professionally and timely

Oversee CACFP program compliance and documentation

Ensure nutritional standards are met

What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field

Meets Louisiana requirements for a Type III Early Learning Center Director

3–5+ years of experience in early childhood education or childcare management

Preferred

Supervisory experience in a childcare setting

Experience with licensing compliance and inspections

Key Skills

Strong leadership and team development

Knowledge of early childhood best practices

Excellent organizational and compliance management skills

Strong communication and family engagement abilities
