Job Summary The IT Director is responsible for leading the organization’s technology strategy and operations across multiple locations within a material handling dealership environment. This role oversees all IT systems, infrastructure, and support services while managing a team of Help Desk Engineers. The IT Director will ensure technology solutions effectively support dealership operations, including sales, service, parts, and field operations.
Essential Functions
Develop and execute IT strategy aligned with business goals
Lead and manage a team of Help Desk Engineers
Oversee IT operations across all locations
Manage Microsoft Dynamics for sales, service, inventory, and parts
Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
Oversee network infrastructure (WAN/LAN, VPNs, firewalls)
Support mobile and field service technologies
Ensure cybersecurity and risk management practices
Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Collaborate with leadership to improve operational efficiency
Manage IT budget and vendors
Establish IT policies and KPIs
AI Strategy, Use & Governance
Develop and implement AI strategies to enhance operations across sales, service, and parts
Evaluate and deploy AI tools to improve efficiency, customer experience, and decision-making
Establish governance frameworks for responsible AI use, including security, compliance, and ethics
Monitor risks related to AI, including data privacy and model accuracy
Identify practical AI use cases in a fast-paced commercial environment
Support user adoption and training of AI-enabled tools
Stay current with emerging AI technologies
Qualifications
8+ years of IT experience with leadership
Multi-site IT operations experience
Expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Dynamics, networking
Experience with dealership or industrial systems
Knowledge of cybersecurity and risk management
Strong leadership and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
Certifications (Microsoft, Azure, Cisco, ITIL)
Experience in material handling or equipment dealerships
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics
Knowledge of IT governance frameworks
