Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for an Aquatic Director at the Central YMCA, based in Youngstown, OH. The Aquatic Director will oversee the planning, organization, and supervision of all aquatic programs and staff. Responsibilities include managing swim lessons, water fitness classes, and swim team; ensuring lifeguard staff are properly trained and certified, maintaining safety standards in pool operations, expanding community engagement through aquatic activities, and developing innovative aquatic programs to cater to diverse participant needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Two years of experience in aquatics and management.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Listens and expresses effectively and in a way that engages, inspires, and builds commitment to the Y’s cause.
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills and ability to adapt to new software programs.
Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: New Staff Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff, Bloodborne Pathogens, Anti-Harassment for Supervisors, CPR-Pro/BLS, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, and YMCA Leader certification.
Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications and maintenance of outside certification(s), including Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Water Fitness Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer at first available offering.
