
Student Assistant (Ticket Sales and Event Operations)

Overview
Join the ticket sales and event operations team at the Gogue Performing Arts Center! The Ticket Sales and Event Operations student staff member at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center is a part-time, year-round position available to Auburn University students. Students will assist patrons with ticket purchases and inquiries, both in person and by phone, manage will call, and help visitors find concessions, restrooms, and their seats at performances. They will also assist with equipment setup, execution, and breakdown for rentals, rehearsals, and performances at the Woltosz Theatre, Ham Amphitheatre at the City of Auburn Lawn and Porch, and other Gogue Center spaces. Events may include concerts, plays, musicals, festivals, luncheons, university programs, and facility rentals. Additionally, staff will act as welcoming ambassadors, providing hospitality and customer service to patrons, donors, special guests, and visiting artists.
Responsibilities
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with peers, patrons, donors, and co-workers over the phone or in person.
Display substantial knowledge about GPAC events, performances, ticket sales packages, subscriptions, and policies.
Assist patrons with ticket purchases in person or over the phone via the ticketing system. Promptly address patron questions or concerns about the facility.
Maintain professionalism and discretion in dealing with organizational and patron information.
Provide day-of-show assistance with will-call, concierge, and house management, as assigned.
Assist with event set-up, execution, and breakdown. Sort and store equipment in the proper location in an orderly fashion.
Promote a friendly and welcoming environment for peers, patrons, donors, and co-workers.
Qualifications Enrolled student at Auburn University
Preferred Qualifications
Prior customer service experience is required. Please identify on application if you possess knowledge of any concert/theatrical ticketing programs/software.
Ability to understand layouts, meticulously follow set-up, break down, and equipment transporting instructions as assigned.
Ability to work independently and with different groups.
Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, walk, climb ladders, and carry equipment.
Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.
