This role is recruiting a Sales Trainee in Macon, GA. The position includes comprehensive training, local travel, and a strong focus on professional development and sales growth within the assigned region.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough research to identify potential customers and generate new leads.

Connect with and support regular and prospective customers throughout the assigned region.

Develop and execute plans to nurture and grow the existing customer community.

Maintain clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments regarding customer successes, challenges, and new developments.

Enhance the Airgas market presence and impact within the region.

Prepare and deliver engaging sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers.

Qualify and pursue new business opportunities identified across the Airgas organization.

Keep local, regional, and national management informed of performance and market trends.

Develop and submit an annual sales plan for the assigned region.

Submit sales and activity reports, including itineraries, client connections, and hot prospect lists.

Maintain a collaborative role through open and honest communication with all Airgas associates.

Focus on safety by complying with company safety procedures and practices.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, addressing evolving needs.

Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to educate customers on Airgas specialty gas products.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to discover opportunities for product or service development.

Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote Airgas products and expand professional contacts.

Build rapport and foster understanding to address customer inquiries effectively.

Resolve customer inquiries and concerns professionally.

Protect the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Present a professional image reflective of company values.

Identify and align key customer stakeholders at all levels within targeted accounts to advance growth.

Maintain clear communication with internal departments regarding new customer developments, successes, and opportunities.

Utilize all available resources to realize growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or relatable experience with a focus on Business or Sales.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to network, negotiate, and build alignment.

Excellent organizational and regional management skills, self‑motivated, and possessing empowering leadership qualities.

Ability to contribute to and thrive within team environments.

Valid driver's license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage.

Enthusiasm and dedication to building a long‑term career in outside sales and sales leadership.

Comfort working onsite with a focus on engaging the local community through travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Track record of meaningful contributions in a customer‑facing role or collaborative academic project.

Experience pioneering new ideas or creative solutions within a team setting.

History of fostering understanding and navigating diverse perspectives to reach common goals.

Familiarity with digital tools and platforms that support organized territory management and effective communication.
