Job Summary As a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers! You will also be a team leader to the associates ensuring the work environment is positive and productive. Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service: Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
Ask questions and listen to customers’ needs.
Direct customers to merchandise; inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
Cooperate and build positive, inclusive and respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
Maintain store appearance.
Cross‑sell products and know store layout.
Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs.
Upsell products.
Learn product features; keep up with the latest trends; leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge and specifications.
Use a point‑of‑sale system, process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards (cash handling) including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customer.
Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
Be the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes, and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed. May participate in periodic inventories.
Protect cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory.
Provide direction on assignments, including prioritizing projects and tasks, managing merchandise and inventory.
Adhere to the assigned work schedule. Follow through on work assignments accurately and completely.
Supervisory duties: Provide effective leadership; direct, train, and motivate associates; set a positive example; provide coaching and feedback in a timely and professional manner; give training to sales associates; provide input to the Department Manager on associate performance; may open and close locations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Product Knowledge: Moderate level of knowledge of products/merchandise; provide training documentation to sales associates on product features.
Experience: 1–2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management; use proper telephone etiquette.
Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; use a calculator to calculate percentages and ratios; must be able to make change in American monetary units.
Reasoning Ability: Multi‑task while attending to customers; remain flexible to business needs; work as part of a team and take initiative independently; defuse escalated exchanges and create win‑win situations.
Physical Demands / Work Environment This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs in some departments. Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.

Work Hours Available to work a variety of hours which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
General Experience 1 year of responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily for the position to be filled.
Specialized Experience 1 year of progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing the kind of duties which constitute the principal work of the position to be filled.
Substitution of Education for Experience Study completed at a college, university, or junior college above the high school level may be substituted on the basis of one‑half academic year of study for six months of experience. At any level, specialized experience may be substituted for required general experience. Candidates must have demonstrated in their work experience or training that they possess or have potential to develop the qualities of successful supervision.
