This role is ideal for a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with strong leadership experience in hospice care, home health, or clinical operations management.
Overview
$15,000 sign‑on bonus available
Executive Director RN I provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for an assigned Hospice location with a developing census.
Oversees day‑to‑day operations, manages interdisciplinary teams, and ensures delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
Fosters a culture of compassion, respect and integrity to meet business and organizational goals, regulatory standards, and community needs.
Engages with the Governing Body, referral partners, and the community for effective communication and relationship building.
Essential Functions
Provides hands‑on leadership for a hospice program with growth opportunity, accountable for clinical quality, operational performance, and sustainable census expansion.
Demonstrates a commitment to excellence through focusing on quality care and service.
Incorporates continuous quality improvement principles in day‑to‑day activities.
Uses statistical and qualitative information to manage quality.
Recommends and implements policies and procedures developed by the Administrator and Governing Body.
Manages Human Resources effectively, including hiring, supervision, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
Promotes positive communications, schedules and documents staff meetings, and keeps employees informed of changes.
Co‑ordinates core orientation and ongoing education for employees, volunteers and contract personnel.
Develops and monitors financial performance, including budget planning, expense reviews and cost‑saving initiatives.
Ensures compliance with accrediting or licensing agencies, regulatory agencies and state or federal law.
Oversees quality of patient care, monitors emergencies, and implements corrective actions for incidents and complaints.
Manages office operations, resource allocation, and project execution to meet strategic goals.
Provides safe environments for patients, visitors, customers and employees.
Participates in market opportunity assessments and marketing material accuracy.
May conduct routine visits to patient homes or institutional settings and/or participate in on‑call schedule (only if a Registered Nurse).
About You
Education: Registered Nurse with a minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing (Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred).
Experience: Minimum one year management/supervisory experience, two or more years in hospice/home care, and preferred three years in direct patient care.
Licenses: Current state nursing license, CPR certification, and valid driver’s license.
Skills: Strong understanding of hospice regulations, Medicare conditions of participation, leadership, communication, organizational and budgeting competencies.
