As a senior leader within DTC Settlement Operations, the Director plays a critical role in safeguarding the stability, resiliency, and integrity of the U.S. securities settlement ecosystem. This role is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of DTC settlement processing, ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate completion of daily settlement activity across securities and cash obligations. You will lead both Run the Business and Change the Business execution, driving operational excellence, strengthening the control environment, and advancing strategic initiatives that modernize settlement capabilities while preserving market stability. In addition, the Clearance & Settlement Director will partner across Technology, Risk, Treasury, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver resilient outcomes for the financial markets.

The Impact You Will Have In This Role This director role directly shapes the stability and efficiency of the U.S. securities settlement ecosystem. By ensuring accurate, timely settlement and strong controls, you help protect market participants and uphold regulatory compliance.

Your Primary Responsibilities

Provide end‑to‑end leadership and accountability for daily DTC settlement operations, including end‑of‑day settlement processing, funds and securities movements, exception management, and issue resolution.

Ensure settlement completion through disciplined execution of operational processes, controls, and escalation protocols in a time‑critical environment.

Own and continuously strengthen the settlement operations control framework, ensuring adherence to documented procedures, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.

Serve as the primary point of contact for audits, risk assessments, and control reviews, including ownership of responses, remediation plans, and sustained compliance.

Lead and develop managers and teams, driving performance management, coaching, cross‑training, and succession planning to ensure operational resiliency.

Establish and monitor operational metrics and benchmarks to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance service quality.

Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery readiness, ensuring settlement operations can perform during periods of stress or disruption.

Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory requirements, industry initiatives, and settlement‑related rule changes, assessing impacts and implementing required operational responses.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex settlement issues and deliver operational excellence.

Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement across the settlement organization.

Qualifications

Minimum 10+ years of experience in securities operations, clearing, settlement, or related capital markets functions.

Strong working knowledge of DTC securities and cash settlement processes.

Experience with cash settlement and Federal Reserve services, including Fed Funds and NSS.

Demonstrated success leading large or multi‑site operational teams in a regulated environment.

Proven experience managing risk, controls, audits, and regulatory interactions.

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.

Demonstrated data fluency and practical use of AI‑enabled productivity tools to synthesize information and improve execution quality is preferred.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all U.S. locations.
