Role Description Development & Marketing Intern
— Full-Time, Summer Internship
Habitat for Humanity of Richland & Crawford Counties is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented college student for a 12-week, full-time, paid summer internship. Position will offer hands‑on experience in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and mission‑driven programming and marketing.
Approximately 32 hours per week; hybrid work environment – in-office, on-site, and remote as appropriate
Compensation: $12.00 per hour
Schedule will include occasional evenings and weekends based on event needs, with advance notice provided
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning and execution of fundraising events, including preparation for the annual gala
Coordinate and assemble silent auction packages, including donor outreach and item tracking
Develop compelling auction descriptions and assist with package presentation
Support event logistics, timelines, and day‑of coordination
Marketing & Content Development
Draft and schedule social media content aligned with Habitat’s mission and campaigns
Capture and organize photo and video content from build sites, events, and partner family stories
Assist with email marketing and campaign messaging
Support promotion of Habitat programs, events, and impact
Assist in promoting the Homeownership Program application cycle
Help create clear, accessible messaging for prospective applicants
Track engagement and inquiries related to the application process
Donor & Sponsor Engagement
Support sponsor recognition across social media, website, and event materials
Assist in tracking sponsorship benefits and donor engagement
Help ensure timely, accurate, and professional donor communications
Additional Expectations
Attend community events, build days, and organizational activities as needed
Availability for occasional evening and weekend events (with advance notice)
Represent Habitat of RCC in a professional and mission-driven manner
Ideal Candidate
College student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or Business
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
Passion for community impact and Habitat’s mission
Preferred (not required)
Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
Basic design skills (Canva or similar tools)
Interest in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit work
