Position Overview
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Golf Course Worker – Casual for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).
Key Responsibilities
Greeter Duties: greet players on 1st tee, provide pace of play policy and other course conditions, record 9 and 18-hole playing times, and communicate issues.
Starter Duties: greet and assist players upon arrival, transport golf equipment to the staging area, ensure reservations are met at 1st tee time, and inform players of pace of play policies.
Player Assistant/Ranger Duties: monitor and assist players in pace of play, ensure policy compliance, repair ball marks and fairway divots, and perform general trash cleanup.
Practice & Teaching Attendant Duties: maintain a safe practice environment, ensure customers practice off matted hitting areas, pick and sort range balls, and monitor practice green use.
Compensation and Benefits Salary: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour (Nonexempt under FLSA).

Working Hours: 19.5 hours per week
Terms of Appointment: Temporary Staff Appointment – Hourly
Qualifications
High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to communicate effectively face‑to‑face, by phone, or by radio.
Ability to work independently and follow supervisor’s directions.
Ability to be punctual.
Knowledge of the game of golf is preferred.
Physical demands: lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Special condition: clean driving record.
Immunization Requirements Under Policy 100.3.1, if employment commences during Flu Season, Rutgers may require proof of seasonal influenza vaccination unless exempt. Failure to provide proof may lead to rescission of an offer or disciplinary action.
