Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is looking for a dynamic customer service-oriented associate to work in our retail branch. This position will handle customer inquiries, sell products to both walk-in and preferred customers, and on occasion deliver compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and associated products to customer locations (local route). Backup drivers are required to touch freight when delivering, have a strong commitment to safety, and provide excellent customer service.

Pay Range:
$19.47 - $28.56 per hour, depending on experience.
What you will be doing: (1st Shift, CDL B)
Provides customer support by taking phone orders, addressing inquiries, tracking order status and shipments and solving customer issues
Assesses and recommends products while promoting additional sales of hard goods and gases to achieve target margins
Conducts product demonstrations for customers using customer insight to drive and guide the development of new offerings
Works closely with and provides sales support to the Outside Sales team
Maintains customer records and files, including accurate account set‑up and pricing
Performs warehouse duties and moves cylinders for customers as needed
Delivers products to customers by making an average of 10‑12 stops per day, while touching freight, completing paperwork and providing excellent customer service
Accurately counts and records the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
Completes hazardous material shipping order papers in accordance with DOT regulations
Conducts and reports pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections
Identifies need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
Builds relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet business goals and customer needs
Continuously builds knowledge of how Linde’s business operates and succeeds to help the organization grow
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Customer Service or Counter Sales experience required; industrial setting preferred
Knowledge of welding equipment and supplies preferred
No DUI/DWI or other alcohol (driving) related convictions within the last ten (10) years
2 years of consecutive driving experience or a certification from an accredited truck driving school within the last 12 months
Valid class B CDL required
Current Hazmat endorsement on CDL strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or other moving violations in the past 2 years
Passes a DOT physical and obtains a medical certificate
Is able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds
Read and writes in English
Is 21 years or older
Effective communication and active listening skills
Upholds high standards of honesty and integrity
Demonstrates personal ownership for safety and actively contributes to a strong safety culture
Contributes to a positive work environment where differences are valued and supported
