Petco Grooming Career
As a Pet Stylist at Petco, you will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to our valued customers' pets. With your expertise and attention to detail, you will ensure that each pet receives exceptional care, leaving them looking and feeling their best.
Key Responsibilities
Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning according to pet parent's instructions and breed standards.
Operate and maintain grooming instruments and equipment.
Prioritize safety and well‑being of animals; monitor for discomfort or injury.
Educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and at‑home care.
Maintain a clean and safe grooming area, disinfect tools, perform scheduled maintenance.
Assist in training and supervising entry‑level trainees when required.
Qualifications
Completion of Pet Stylist Apprentice program or professional groomer experience.
High‑school diploma or GED preferred.
Strong attention to detail, passion for animals, and knowledge of breeds.
Proficient in grooming techniques and standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments.
Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
