Job Title: Extraboard Poker Dealer (varied shifts)

Department: Card Room

Reports To: Card Room Shift Supervisor

Summary Deals a standardized, smooth and mechanically efficient game. Controls game action and players. Ensures games are dealt and collections taken in accordance with casino policy and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Checks in with Shift Supervisor 15 minutes prior to shift change.

Obtains bank and has sufficient chips for change, collection drop and jackpot drops.

Begins dealer rotation in complete uniform and good personal hygiene.

Enters box, gives and receives any information about games with outgoing dealer.

Deals 13 hands of 7-card stud and 16 hands of Hold’em per half hour.

Controls games.

Takes proper collection drops and Jackpot drops.

Notifies board-person, coordinator, floor-person, or shift supervisor of vacant seats.

Calls floor-person for any problems or decisions.

Informs floor-person of short games before it breaks.

Understands and follows Card Room Policies and Procedures.

Provides a friendly, congenial, harmonious atmosphere for customers.

Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.

Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.

Education And/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous poker dealing experience strongly preferred; and/or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Qualifications Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be reliable, trustworthy and dependable. Must be able to handle pressure and stressful situations.

Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Although the Card Room is a non-smoking environment, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to secondary smoke when passing through the casino. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
