Lighthouse Ministries is seeking a motivated and compassionate student for our Nonprofit Career Launch Internship. This paid opportunity is designed for individuals interested in gaining hands‑on experience in nonprofit development, marketing, communications, and community engagement.
Students pursuing degrees in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
The selected participant will work closely with the Development Associate and gain real‑world exposure to donor relations, storytelling, events, and nonprofit operations.
Key Responsibilities
Donor & Database Support
Enter donations into the donor database
Update and clean donor records
Assist with mailing lists and donor segmentation
Prepare acknowledgment and thank‑you letters
Administrative Support
Assist with mailings and organization of materials
Track sponsorship participation
Support donation entry and record‑keeping
Events & Community Engagement
Assist with fundraising events and outreach efforts
Help prepare sponsorship and event materials
Attend community meetings and partner events
Marketing & Communications
Assist with social media content and scheduling
Help draft newsletters, emails, and blog content
Support storytelling and impact communication
Assist in creating marketing materials and campaigns
Provide insight and feedback on how younger generations engage with charitable giving and communication
Ideal Candidate
Pursuing or interested in marketing, communications, nonprofit work, or a related field
Organized and detail‑oriented
Strong in written and verbal communication
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Willing to learn and take initiative
Passionate about serving the community
Internship Details
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week
Duration: Late May through early September
Location: Primarily in‑person in Florence, SC
Compensation: $15 per hour
Necessary equipment and materials will be provided
