
Golf Course Attendant

Accountable for the various functions relating to the daily operations of the golf course and shop. Provides customer service to golfers. Ensures accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements. Coordinates functions relating to cash management and golf shop operations in accordance with established University policies.
Responsibilities
50%
- Carry out daily functions of the golf shop including checking in customers for all transactions, leagues, and tournaments, coordinating tee times, organizing cart rentals (assigning golf cart, monitoring return and cleaning carts), and processing sales of merchandise and services; accurately maintain customer profiles and membership records; keep thorough records of each transaction and tee time; register new guests and update old profile information as needed.

- Inform visitors of course conditions, prices, special events, hours of operation, etc.; work with ranger to enforce rules and regulations; carry out starter tasks on first tee when ranger unavailable.

- Create an inviting indoor shop environment and encourage sale of merchandise; maintain, restock, and promote sale of merchandise, snack shack items, and other indoor/outdoor displays.

- Perform interior and exterior maintenance activities to the golf shop and general sales area, including raking, sweeping, vacuuming; ensure surfaces and displays clean and attractive; empty trash cans; complete opening and closing tasks; ensure accuracy of cash drawer at start and end of each shift.
Supplemental Functions
Other duties as assigned.
Education Golf Course Experience Preferred. Must be willing to work 1 weekend and at least 6 total shifts a month. Golf Fees will not be waived if this requirement is not met.
Years of Experience 1-2 years of golf related experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Has knowledge of golf or has willingness to learn.
Ability to handle keep customer information private and confidential.
Comfortable working with computers and learning the sales software.
Maintain professionalism when dealing with all staff and other customers while fostering positive working relationships.
Adhere to governing documents, policies, and procedures established by St. Bonaventure University.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
While performing required job tasks, physically able to bend, crouch and reach continuously.
While performing required job tasks, physically able to remain seated, frequently to continuously.
