Job Summary The responsibilities for this job include the following:
Program Development & Implementation (30% – 6 hours/week)
Create and execute educational programs that foster student learning and personal growth.
Develop community‑building initiatives that promote peer engagement and leadership.
Align programming with institutional priorities such as diversity, inclusion, and retention.
Resident Support & Mentorship (25% – 5 hours/week)
Serve as a mentor and resource for students on academic, social, and personal matters.
Facilitate peer connections and encourage involvement in campus activities.
Provide guidance on conflict resolution, time management, and communication skills.
Community Development & Engagement (20% – 4 hours/week)
Foster a supportive and inclusive living environment for residents.
Organize initiatives that enhance student belonging and campus integration.
Collaborate with RAs to implement community engagement strategies.
Administrative & Institutional Alignment (15% – 3 hours/week)
Assist in aligning housing goals with broader university initiatives.
Track and assess programming effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
Support housing operations with documentation, reports, and resident communication.
Leadership Development & Training (10% – 2 hours/week)
Develop and facilitate leadership workshops for residents and student staff.
Support RAs in their professional growth and mentorship responsibilities.
Promote skill‑building opportunities that enhance student success beyond college.
Required Qualifications
Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG. Students admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Be enrolled full‑time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Eagerness to learn skills outside their specific graduate role, for example, learning the facilities side of our Housing department.
Experience with Housing and Residence Life as a student assistant, involvement with Residence Hall Association (RHA), or involvement in National Residence Hall Honorary.
Valid Drivers License.
Proposed Salary
A monthly stipend of $1000.00 per month.
A tuition waiver, reducing your graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.
