Payments Performance Strategist, PINless Debit

The Global Payments Performance team will be responsible for leading data‑driven discussions with existing and prospective merchants on optimization strategies across a variety of areas including card network costs, acceptance, fraud, and cross‑border flows. You will build optimisation narratives/tools and deliver on our merchant engagement model. You will collaborate with Sales to differentiate Stripe and partner with Customer Success to ensure merchant success.

Responsibilities

Advise customers on usage of Stripe’s PINless debit offering.

Design and collaborate on PINless debit experiments with Data Science; own experiment result analysis and customer‑facing readouts.

Serve as an internal expert on Stripe’s PINless debit offering, relaying customer feedback to Product to shape roadmap and strategy.

Work with account teams, deal pricing teams and partnership teams to manage Visa and Mastercard incentive offers, churn risks, and volume win‑back initiatives.

Lead discussions with existing and prospective merchants, and provide Sales with tools and training to lead conversations.

Serve as both an internal and merchant‑facing expert on payment optimisation strategies.

Gather and build on Stripe’s wide‑ranging payments expertise to create optimisation narratives/tools supported by rigorous analysis.

Use existing tools to deploy sophisticated optimisation playbooks and analyses across Stripe’s customer portfolio.

Synthesise and relay customer feedback and findings to inform Stripe’s product roadmap.

Provide feedback on tools and playbooks to continuously improve our self‑serve offerings.

Develop optimisation playbooks and stay updated on industry best practices and Stripe innovations.

Minimum Requirements

10+ years of experience in payments at a leading technology company or consultancy in the payments industry.

Deep expertise in PINless debit.

Understanding of e‑commerce payments, card‑based payment processing and optimisation strategies with a strong focus on PINless debit.

Understanding of PINless debit regulations.

The ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast‑moving environment.

A proven ability to be a self‑starter capable of driving business results without significant supervision.

Experience presenting directly to merchants.

Strong data processing, organisational and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing and administering A/B tests, SQL, dashboard building, modelling, or reporting.

Experience presenting to senior business leaders.

Hybrid work at Stripe This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56 km from a Stripe office). Office‑assigned Stripes are expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office. A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. You are welcome to visit the office for meetings, but are expected to work from home regularly. Stripe does not cover relocation costs.

Pay and benefits The annual US base salary range for this role is $172,200 - $258,400. (For sales roles, the range provided is the OTE range.) The range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants located outside the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
