
Marketing Technology Solutions Architect

The Marketing Technology Solution Architect leads solution architecture for marketing and communications capabilities. This role partners with business, product, engineering, data, security, and enterprise architecture teams to design scalable, secure, and measurable customer engagement solutions.
The architect translates marketing goals into practical technology designs and integration patterns that improve customer experience, speed to market, resiliency, and cost effectiveness across digital channels and supporting platforms.
This role focuses on solution architecture and cross‑team design leadership, working with domain specialists in data, security, infrastructure, and platform engineering as needed.
What You Will Do
Define and evolve solution architecture patterns and roadmaps for marketing and communications capabilities.
Partner with marketing, digital, product, engineering, data, and security teams to align business priorities with technology solutions.
Design end‑to‑end solutions spanning customer engagement platforms, web and CMS ecosystems, customer data flows, messaging channels, APIs, analytics, and downstream enterprise systems.
Create reusable reference architectures and integration patterns for customer data exchange, identity, personalization, and journey orchestration.
Guide modernization of legacy and point‑to‑point integrations toward API‑first, event‑driven, and cloud‑based architectures.
Collaborate with delivery teams on solution design, interface contracts, nonfunctional requirements, and implementation tradeoffs.
Evaluate and recommend platform and integration options, including buy vs. build considerations, across the marketing technology landscape.
Ensure solutions address security, privacy, consent, resiliency, observability, accessibility, and supportability requirements.
Support architecture reviews, proof‑of‑concept efforts, and governance processes.
Communicate architecture direction, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
What You Will Bring
10+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise applications, digital platforms, or customer‑facing technology solutions.
5+ years of experience in solution architecture, technical design leadership, or a closely related architecture role.
Experience designing integrated solutions across web platforms, CRM, messaging channels, APIs, analytics, and customer data flows.
Working knowledge of marketing and communications concepts such as campaign orchestration, customer journeys, segmentation, personalization, consent management, event tracking, and measurement.
Hands‑on experience with modern integration patterns including APIs, asynchronous messaging, microservices, or event‑driven architecture.
Experience with cloud‑based solution design, preferably on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
Understanding of web and digital experience architecture, including CMS concepts, performance, caching, and secure customer‑facing design.
Knowledge of data integration and analytics patterns that support audience activation, customer insights, and campaign measurement.
Ability to communicate architecture tradeoffs and influence decisions across cross‑functional teams.
Familiarity with security and privacy fundamentals such as OAuth, encryption, secure SDLC, OWASP awareness, and privacy‑by‑design principles.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce CRM, Adobe Experience Cloud, Twilio, customer data platforms, or similar tools.
Experience supporting cross‑channel engagement across email, SMS, push, or web personalization.
Familiarity with direct marketing, lead routing, campaign data models, and integration of marketing platforms with enterprise systems and data platforms.
Familiarity with event instrumentation, digital analytics, experimentation, and performance reporting.
Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
Strong facilitation, mentoring, and stakeholder alignment skills.
