Location Chesapeake, VA
Position Crate Builder – Full Time, $16.00
Responsibilities
Building crates, skids and custom wood packaging products per customer specs.
Assembling materials using pneumatic nail guns, screws, bolts, glue and various hand tools.
Placing product in wood container manually or using forklift or crane.
Bolting heavy machinery to bottom of box or skid.
Wrapping and padding product with foam, plastic and foil barriers.
Wrapping and tightening of metal or polyester bands around crate using banding equipment.
Attaching identification stencils or labels as required by customer.
Requirements
Must be able to read a tape measure.
Experience in manufacturing environment required.
Ability to operate saw, chop saw, drill press, band saw and nail guns.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and maintain strong attention to detail.
Quality control is a must.
Basic math skills required.
Must have a high sense of urgency and safety awareness.
Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day.
