Peer Recovery Coach

Responsibilities

The Peer Recovery Coach works in a multidisciplinary team and is available to assist and support guests experiencing substance use conditions. The primary role is to engage guests with substance use and provide encouragement, support, and treatment service connections for guests who agree to treatment. The Peer Recovery Coach will provide follow-up contact after the guest leaves the service location to ensure engagement with treatment services in the community. In collaboration with the treatment team, the Peer Recovery Coach will help guests problem solve barriers to treatment. The Peer Recovery Professional is responsible for appropriately documenting services provided in accordance with program procedures. Qualifications

Education & Training:

High-school graduate or equivalent is required. Work Orientation & Experience:

The candidate is or was actively engaged in his/her own recovery program with a minimum of two years’ (three years’ preferred) demonstrated personal recovery and sustained abstinence from alcohol and/or drug use. Skills & Abilities:

1) Effectively communicate with various staff in the healthcare setting; 2) Engage identified guests positively using recovery model; 3) Apply CCAR knowledge; 4) Adhere to HIPAA requirements and confidentiality; 5) Make appropriate community referrals; 6) Perform professionally and compassionately under stress.
