Sumter Christian School is a private, Christian school located in Sumter, SC. Since 1974, the school has been dedicated to providing quality education to Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon counties, as well as Shaw Air Force Base. With the Bible as our foundation, we are committed to teaching children academically, socially, and spiritually in order to “present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” (Col. 1:28).
Role Description Beginning August 2026, this is a full-time on-site role for an Band Director at Sumter Christian School in Sumter, SC. The Band Director, who also serves as the Fine Arts Director, will be responsible for teaching 3 band classes, elementary music, fulfilling Fine Arts duties, and teaching an additional class or two based on qualifications and preferences.
Qualifications
Christian - and in agreement with the doctrine of the founding church - Sumter Bible Church
Early Childhood or Elementary Education degree.
Curriculum Development and Teaching skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexibility - good rapport with students and their parents.
