Territory Sales Manager – Mid-Atlantic
Remote / Home-Based Full-Time. D&D Commodities, a business unit of Central Garden & Pet, manufactures premium nutritional products for various animals. We seek a results-driven Territory Sales Manager to drive sales growth and strengthen customer relationships across the Mid-Atlantic region. The role manages distributor and retail relationships, expands market share, and drives revenue across multiple sales channels.
Territory:
Virginia, Maryland, Western Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Preferred Residence Location:
candidates should reside within the Mid-Atlantic corridor (Charlottesville, VA; Northern Virginia (Manassas area); and Frederick, MD) or within reasonable driving distance to support frequent customer visits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute territory sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
Manage and grow relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts within the assigned territory.
Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand the company's market presence.
Partner with distributor sales teams to drive product awareness, merchandising, and promotional initiatives.
Analyze sales data, customer performance, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
Conduct regular customer visits, joint sales calls, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
Forecast territory sales performance and provide accurate reporting to sales leadership.
Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and regional meetings as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong relationship‑building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Demonstrated success driving sales growth in distributor and retail sales channels.
Excellent organizational, planning, and territory management skills.
Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
Ability to travel frequently within the territory and maintain a valid driver’s license.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field preferred.
3–5+ years of experience in consumer‑packaged goods, retail, or distributor‑based sales.
Experience managing distributor relationships and developing territory growth strategies.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Field travel includes frequent car travel, occasional airline travel, and hotel accommodations; frequent overnight stays expected (approximately 3–4 nights per week in the field).
Work occurs during regular customer business hours with occasional weekend work as needed.
May require intermittent lifting of 30–50 pounds of products, display materials, or trade show equipment.

POSITION INFORMATION
Base salary range: $60,000 – $70,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
Eligible for annual performance‑based incentive/growth bonus, providing additional earning potential based on individual and territory performance.
