The Opportunity The purpose of this role is to develop and execute channel strategic plans while providing expert technical guidance on a range of products to intermediaries and clients. This role involves overseeing underwriting activities and managing the profitability of QBE's Life Sciences products.
Location: Preferably Chicago, IL but open to other locations as well
Work Arrangement: hybrid or remote working expectations
Starting salary: $144,000.00 – $237,500.00
Evaluate risk for new business & renewals to ensure profitable growth.
Actively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness.
Provide senior technical and specialist product expertise to corporate intermediaries/clients.
Ensure ongoing personal technical development to achieve the ideal DAL state.
Support divisional underwriting function to actively manage talent for succession planning.
Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimize risks.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, intermediaries, and stakeholders.
Contribute to the development and implementation of channel strategic plans.
Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviors.
Achieve overall local underwriting governance requirements and internal audit standards.
Work Experience
Significant underwriting experience with regional exposure.
Established customer and broker relationships.
Qualifications
Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Compensation Package The salary range for this role is already specified. Additional compensation may include QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
