Overview The Commercial and Digital Strategy team provides strategic and business‑planning leadership and support across businesses and functions within the commercial bank. The Commercial and Digital Strategy Consultant is a key role for establishing and progressing internal strategic consulting capabilities for the Commercial Strategy team and for Huntington Bank overall.

This role actively drives multiple strategic engagements targeting growth, digital, and other business‑transformation opportunities across the commercial bank. It works closely with coverage leaders, product owners, and key functional leaders—including technology, operations, finance, risk, and human resources—to evaluate new markets or businesses, enhance salesforce effectiveness, identify new digital capabilities or products, and drive operational efficiency. The consultant also supports senior strategy leadership by providing guidance to business and functional leaders across the bank and reports to the EVP, Commercial and Digital Strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Execute strategic engagements across the Commercial Bank in partnership with other teams.

Conduct expert network interviews and benchmark studies to identify growth and transformation opportunities.

Perform primary and secondary research, analytics, and competitor analysis to develop fact‑based support for strategic engagements.

Assist in developing and refining OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) throughout the Commercial Bank.

Lead, support, coordinate, and take accountability for strategic presentations to senior management, working cross‑functionally to develop content, messaging, and presentation.

Identify, prioritize, and manage various initiatives across the commercial bank.

Perform ad‑hoc strategic market analysis.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Undergraduate degree in Business or a related field.

1+ years working at a management consulting firm, ideally with experience in financial services.

2+ years of experience with a successful track record of developing business strategy, financial modeling and analysis, competitive analysis, and strategic planning.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work with ambiguity and complex strategic analysis projects.

Strong analytical skills and project management skills.

Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.

One year of direct experience in strategic management consulting or wholesale financial services strategy strongly preferred.

Executive‑level presence and the ability to navigate and work with all levels within an organization.

Strong research skills and a desire to expand knowledge.

Ability to synthesize analysis and research into practical strategic insights and recommendations.

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.

3+ years of strategy or business consulting experience.

Exempt Status Yes – not eligible for overtime pay.

Workplace Type Office. Certain positions outside the branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement, combining in‑office and work‑from‑home options. Remote roles may also come together in our offices for occasional in‑person collaboration.

Compensation $77,000 – $154,000 annually (actual compensation varies by location, experience, and performance). Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan and receive benefits including health insurance, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid leave, paid holidays, and PTO.
