Role Overview The Creative Director at Indie Consulting is responsible for setting and elevating the creative vision across client engagements, ensuring all work is strategically grounded, culturally relevant, and executed at the highest level. This role leads the development of breakthrough creative across channels—from brand campaigns to digital and social—while mentoring and inspiring a growing creative team.

As a key partner to strategy, client services, and media, the Creative Director plays a critical role in shaping how brands show up in the world, driving both creative excellence and business impact. This includes ownership of both visual and verbal brand expression across paid social, organic social, and owned channels (including PDPs, websites, and email). The role requires a balance of big‑picture thinking and hands‑on leadership, with a strong ability to translate insights into compelling, effective creative solutions.

Additionally, the Creative Director is expected to champion innovation in creative production, proactively identifying and integrating emerging technologies—including AI—to enhance ideation, streamline workflows, and unlock new ways of delivering high‑quality, scalable creative for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of creative strategy and execution across multiple client accounts, ensuring alignment with brand and business objectives

Oversee and inspire the creative team, providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and mentorship to elevate output and grow talent

Translate strategic insights into compelling creative concepts across campaigns, content, and brand initiatives

Partner cross‑functionally with strategy, social, influencer, and activation teams to deliver integrated, high‑impact work in alignment with objectives and channel best practices

Present creative concepts and rationale to clients with confidence, clarity, and strategic grounding

Oversee end‑to‑end creative production cycles, including planning and execution of in‑house shoot days and management of external production partners, content creators and vendors

Establish and uphold creative standards across visual and verbal expression, ensuring all work is strategically grounded, channel‑appropriate, and optimized for both brand building and performance

Oversee verbal brand expression across all client work, including messaging, on‑screen text, and copywriting

Review and approve creative work across channels, including social, digital, paid media, and brand identity

Explore, test, and implement emerging AI tools to enhance creative development, production efficiency, and scalability across client work

Stay ahead of cultural, creative, and industry trends to inform and inspire forward‑thinking work

Contribute to new business efforts, including pitch development and creative ideation

Help define and evolve Indie’s creative processes, tools, and ways of working as the team grows

Establish Indie’s approach to content and creative development, contributing to the future vision of Indie’s end‑to‑end marketing services

Must‑Have Qualifications

10+ years of experience in creative roles within an agency or consultancy environment, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership position

Strong portfolio demonstrating concept‑driven creative work across integrated campaigns and digital channels

Proven experience leading and mentoring creative teams, including writers, designers, and/or content creators

Experience overseeing creative production, including photoshoots, video shoots, and external vendors

Experience developing and presenting creative concepts to clients and senior stakeholders

Deep understanding of branding, storytelling, and content development across platforms

Ability to translate strategy and insights into impactful creative ideas

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with CPG or consumer brands

Background in both brand and performance‑driven creative

Familiarity with social‑first and digital ecosystems, including paid media best practices

Experience experimenting with or implementing AI tools in creative workflows

Experience contributing to or leading new business pitches

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Reporting Relationship VP of Client Services

Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Salary $150,000‑175,000 + benefits & bonus eligibility

Location This role is based in New York, NY or Raleigh, NC with a hybrid schedule of three in‑office days and two remote days each week.
