
Vice President Account Director (Freelance- Client Onsite)

Job Overview
We’re looking for a whip‑smart Freelance VP/Account Director who can consistently strengthen client relationships and bring powerful ideas and insights to life. The role requires onsite presence at the client in Minneapolis, MN weekly.
Responsibilities Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
Managing client relationships, partnering with senior leadership on high‑level strategy, and using deep web knowledge to ensure strategic deliverables.
Eloquently articulating our views on digital business philosophies and keeping clients updated on industry context.
Selling new project ideas that align with client goals for both customer and brand.
Maintaining a strong understanding of changes in the client’s industry and how customer needs are adapting.
Inspiring clients with strong storytelling skills – engaging, thoughtful, and compelling.
Partnering with clients and capability partners to build active brands.
Owning the financials for clients, including forecasts, budgets, and investments – ensuring that key financial responsibilities are mutually understood and agreed upon.
Creating conceptually strong, insight‑driven copy across integrated B2B campaigns, with a focus on
healthcare insurance and benefits solutions
targeting brokers, consultants, employers, and decision makers.
Developing team members by coaching, training, and identifying areas for growth – offering direct and consistent feedback and encouraging learning from mistakes.
Willingness to be onsite at the client in Minneapolis, MN regularly.
Qualifications We’re looking for a talented VP/Account Director with impressive work experience, which typically includes:
Four years of college education, an MBA degree, and 10 to 12 years of experience (ideally at a creative agency), including four years of leadership experience in integrated marketing and client relationship management with a digital scope.
Superior analytical skills and strategic thinking – strong on both IQ and EQ, adept at reading data and clients.
Superb communication and presentation skills – articulate, straightforward, engaging, and effective.
Effective time‑management, impeccable organization, and flexibility to adapt quickly to changes.
Proven project management and performance management skills – known for coaching and developing talent, inspiring and driving change, and bringing varied groups together to collaborate effectively.
Demonstrated budget management and resource planning experience.
Familiarity with prompt‑based interaction and commonly used generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DALL·E, Midjourney) is a plus, especially for tasks like ideation, research, or content generation.
