
Product Owner - AML Compliance

Role Responsibilities
At Western Union, we are excited to offer innovative products that meet the needs of our customers. To help us continue expanding our offerings, we’re in search of an experienced product owner to work side‑by‑side with a multidisciplinary development team and oversee the development and delivery of a suite of compliance case management products. The product owner will work in collaboration with product managers and the leadership team in the Compliance Systems & Analytics department to execute and deliver the product vision. The product owner will establish working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and will own the creation of epics, features and user stories. We’re looking for a confident leader who can guide cross‑functional teams in the creation and on‑time delivery of high‑quality products that improve the customer experience.
Manage product requirements, define and document business and operational processes, own and manage sprints, and own end‑to‑end delivery for new features and capabilities.
Define and manage the sprint process in collaboration with the Scrum Master.
Collect business requirements from stakeholders, write features, business stories and Epics.
Manage sprint requirements and backlog.
Collaborate with QA on test cases and acceptance criteria; manage and execute User Acceptance Testing for sprints and monthly releases.
Evaluate and recommend new vendors and tools to complement current capabilities.
Interact with other internal departments to formulate recommendations and actions.
Interact with various groups around the globe, including becoming the SME for specific products and projects.
Be tasked with thinking out of the box and creating clear recommendations on specific projects.
Role Requirements
Undergraduate degree in business or engineering and 2+ years of product experience, or equivalent.
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Experience in Agile processes and frameworks – Scrum, Kanban, SAFE.
Experience in Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, etc.
Experience with Business‑Driven‑Development and Gherkins acceptance criteria.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to effectively communicate business requirements to business and technical audiences.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks independently.
Work Shift Hybrid – Western Union values in‑person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week.

Salary The base salary range is $100,000 – $130,000 per year. Total on‑target compensation includes a base salary plus short‑term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
